Applying behavioral science to reduce cardiovascular risk burden in patients with thoracic aortopathy.
While the primary concern in aortic aneurysm disease is rupture, pathology of the aorta (called aortopathy) also associates with a sharply increased risk for cardiovascular events and mortality. Our previous clinical and fundamental research has emphasized the incidence of and risk for cardiovascular events in thoracic aortopathy.
This study will evaluate the effect of a customized, multifaceted, multidisciplinary health quality-improvement program (the intervention) on cardiovascular risk factors, cardiovascular events and compare the outcomes with the standard care in thoracic aortopathy patients.
